Year End Farewell Letter from The Principal
Dear Parents and Pupils,
It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of the school year already. When we closed the school on March 12th we fully expected to see you back in a few weeks. That didn’t happen and we now find ourselves saying goodbye until August.
I would like to thank you all for your support and engagement with remote learning over the past 15 weeks. I want to keep you all up to date with the plans for the future, in so far as I can.
Booklists: You have all received an e-mail with booklists and details of on-line payments. Thank you to those who have paid already. (These will also be available on the website).
Second Classes: We are very sad not to be able to say a proper “goodbye” to you all. We wish you the best in 3rd class. We are delighted to hear that Ms Gowen is keeping you all together in your class groups so you will meet all your old friends in your new school.
Communions: Fr. Des is hoping that the Diocese will allow him to hold Communion Masses over the summer. He will be in contact with you to tell you of his plans for the ceremonies at a later date.
Re-Opening: We all hope that the situation continues to improve and that we can welcome all our pupils back to school as planned on August 27th. There will be protocols and restrictions, but these have not yet been decided by Department of Education & Skills, as these will be based on prevailing advice from HSE and NPHET. Please check the website and keep an eye out for e-mails towards the end of the summer.
Teachers’ Professional G-mail addresses: These will not be monitored after June 30th. Any urgent correspondence for the school should be sent to email@example.com - This address will be monitored at intervals while the school is closed for the summer.
New Junior Infants: I hope the photos of classrooms and of your new teachers give you an idea of what to expect.
I enclose a copy of our School Calendar 2020/2021 for your convenience (please see Holidays/Closings page on this site for a downloadable copy).
I hope you all stay safe and well and enjoy your summer. As you know children will have the same teachers, where possible and a new classroom. We are looking forward to seeing you, hearing your “lock down” stories and hope you enjoyed our end of year message – we all had great fun making it. This will be on the website soon.
